wanderings
Synopsis
In collaboration with Ng Hui Hsien
Wanderings draws inspiration from Eng Tow’s sensitivity to the rhythms of nature as well as the materials she uses. Through explorations with paper, cloth and natural elements that surround us, this film invites viewers to enter an intimate, meditative world infused with light and shadow, density and void. Like how intuition plays a prominent role in Eng Tow’s works especially from the late 1980s onwards, the process of making this film embraces chance and ways of knowing that at times, defy words.
